A Special Message From Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) Ambassador Renate Jakupca Regarding COVID-19

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Ambassador Renate shares thoughts of empathy, compassion, and community.

To all the Worlds Children, members, staff, and beyond:

In these uncertain times, I wanted to reach out to share that you, your family, your friends, and your colleagues are in our thoughts. We’re all anxious and things are changing quickly—each day feels like five news cycles. Our first priority is the health and safety of all the Worlds Children, our staff, visitors, and volunteers.

We’re approaching this time with the experience of helping to build communities for 30 years+. We do that with the humility we draw from the natural world, with the nimbleness the public expects from us, and through the grassroots network of families and individuals who connect through Iceality. Even while we’re coming to grips with this new normal, People everywhere have demonstrated a deep appreciation for just being safely outside where they can keep appropriate social distance and yet try to hear the songs of Spring approaching.

We’ve done the important basics: To help stop the spread of the virus, we’ve closed all WCPM offices, we’ve suspended all non-essential travel, and we’re postponing events and large gatherings. We’ve also closed all of our nature center at the historic ARK in Berea Eco-Museum while keeping the trails open for now. We’re regularly updating COVID-19 messages though inspirational posters by Dr. A.J. Brohi
 on our social media Facebook page, so you can see the status of the situation.

We’re continuing to work with our colleagues, some members of our conservation team are still able to perform important stewardship and monitoring work—and are doing so safely. Additionally, we’ve taken practical steps to ensure the health and continuity of the business side of our house as well.

We’re also looking at ways that the Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) can help the broader community—and in times like these, Nature can provide a source of hope, a sense of resilience, and maybe even a little inspiration. Given the need for digital education tools with families staying home, we’re using this moment to leverage our digital tools and transform our educational programming and provide folks with online solutions that can be informative and fun:

•     We’re finding new ways of serving local communities, based on what they tell us they need.
  The CLEVELAND NATIONAL PEACE PLAN  for AMERICA.
•     We’re engaging our network to use at-home time productively. We can’t bring much activism to a system that’s appropriately focused elsewhere, but we can keep our network connected through compelling training on everything from building great advocacy ICEALITY campaigns to the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the conservation world.

To be sure, we’re all facing a long and challenging list of unknowns. We’re both gaining and losing visibility on what our new reality is each day—and it seems likely that things may get worse before they get better. But I’m confident that the International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) leadership team and its international and state and center boards have the conservation expertise and the business experience to make good decisions at a trying time.To our dismay, amid the  #COVID2019 controversy #Cleveland, #Ohio  is missing the chance of global leadership as the 'Cradle for a Universal Culture of Peace" for All Living Things! By delaying to implementing of the acclaimed Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) Politicians are not utilizing the respected Science of Peace and Global Harmony, the Theory of Iceality, for maximum affect to save the Planet from self destruction.

Dear David and Ambassador Renate Jakupca,
It was wonderful to see you Friday in Parma Heights at the nationalities roundtable. Thank you for taking the time to meet and for providing me an opportunity to take part in an informative discussion about U.S. foreign policy, Ukraine, and efforts to combat misinformation, disinformation, and aggression from countries such as Russia and China. I always learn a lot from the input you provide and appreciate your efforts as leaders of our nationalities communities.

Through your commitment to your communities and to our country, you fight to stand up for American leadership abroad and the values and ideals it represents. America is stronger because of our diverse ethnicities and nationalities and we must continue to take on the responsibility of ensuring basic rights are protected across the globe.
I look forward to continuing to be your partner in Washington and I hope to see you all again soon.

  The historic ARK in Berea, home of the sustainable global Environmental Arts Movement,  helped inaugurate the green building trend that is now sweeping America.  In 2000, mainly because of their heightened talent to match ability with vision, David and Renate were the ideal avant-guides to help lead the Nation into the next Millennium when they spent six months in Europe at EXPO2000, the World's Fair in Hanover, Germany as American Cultural Ambassadors.

Over the years, ICEA has gained a reputation for excellence based upon a unique library of specialized, current information on global importance and a wide range of imaginative programming and collaborations with other organizations to meet the needs of a broad constituency. With affiliates across the globe, the ICEA supports research, information sharing and effective action promoting a sustainable culture of Peace.

The ARK in Berea Museum a member in good standing with the Northeastern Ohio Inter-Museum Council.

Founded in 1942, The Northeastern Ohio Inter-Museum Council serves over 140 institutional members in Cuyahoga and six adjacent counties. Members range from large, internationally renowned museums in major urban centers to metro parks, nature facilities and small local history museums spread across parts of the Western Reserve.

The purpose of this organization is to enable its members to preserve history and works of art, to advance science and natural history, or to study and display works of art, minerals, animal, and plant life. NEOIMC members work together to find solutions to their shared concerns in the fields of finance, legislation, public relations, education, personnel and related fields, and do what is necessary and proper to carry out the purposes for which individual member organizations were created.

The Council provides a group forum for airing common goals and issues; sponsors educational workshops for museum staff and volunteers; hosts general meetings at member museums.

As the Spititual Father of the Envirionmental Art Movement, David Jakupca was an innovative artist who took the world by storm as American Cultural Ambassador, Universal Peace Ambassador,
Founder of the International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA)

    This is due primarily to his pioneer work on The 'Theory of Iceality' on Environmental Arts:which is a practical study of the aesthetics of the relationship between Humans and their Environment through Arts and Culture, ultimately promoting an effective sustainable  global Culture of Peace between All Living Things ~ Human, Plant and Animal Kingdoms. By incorporating the rights of flora and fauna in a "Universal Peace Equation" is the first major change in achieving a sustainable Peace on Earth in over 2000 Years.

David and Renate Jakupca are also responsible for enlightening the art community to the new genre of social activist Environmental Art when they founded the International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) in 1987 at the historic ARK in Berea , Ohio.  ICEA was organized into three divisions:  Environmental, Humanities, Arts and Culture, this acts as an umbrella organization of affiliated groups  that support related agendas with the idea of creating a prototype NGO that is easily replicated in other communities, cities, states and countries.  As the first professional art organization to be solely dedicated  to this endeavor, this has made ICEA to be the leading force in the Environmental arts and a force for socially responsible activity.

I am extremely grateful to Mr. Craig Arnold, Eaton Company Chairman, for donating and the and the Ohio German-American Business Association for all of the work erecting the statue at the ARK in Berea Museum.

According to Jakupca, beginning with ICEA, the Environmental Arts Genre has grown exponentially and has over the past decades  spawned a wide variety of very similar phrases and art terms such as; eco art, land art, ecoventions, natural art, green art, outdoor art, social activity, earth art, recycled art, sustainable art, ecodedsign, etc. These can be all be considered sub-categories under the umbrella of the main Environmental Art Genre. While Jakupca's art is presented in some of the most prestigious museums across the country, none houses more than the ARK in Berea, Ohio.
